The Daily Toledo team
If you have kids in school around here, Tuesday's ballot split the districts. Voters in Toledo and Sylvania approved more school funding, while Maumee and Springfield voters rejected proposed income taxes. WTOL says Maumee Schools must prepare for $3-4 million in cuts and reductions, and Sylvania Schools will see new revenue.
In Toledo, Issue 9 is a 6.9-mill levy for Toledo Public Schools. It's expected to generate more than $22 million a year, and the district pointed to rising costs, inflation and state funding cuts. Counts stay unofficial until they're certified.
