  • Promenade Park and Glass City Metropark will host Party in the Park Friday with live music and nine hot air balloons that will glow along the Toledo skyline at dusk—guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets— while the event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is free.  WTVG

  • A woman was killed in a car crash after reportedly falling asleep at the wheel, and authorities are investigating the incident.  WTVG

  • The Spectrum of Possibilities Autism Conference brings together autism resources for families and educators—providing a central point for expert guidance and support.  WTOL

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • University of Toledo microbiologists found that microcystin (an algal toxin) remained in beach sand at Maumee Bay State Park for up to three weeks. The study, led by doctoral student Garrett Moots and published in the Journal of Great Lakes Research, noted that toxin levels in sand often surpassed those in the water.  The University of Toledo

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington Street between 17th and Summit Streets will get safety improvements including bike lanes and a roundabout at the intersection of Indiana, Washington, and 11th. The city will start work in 2026 after finalizing an agreement with ODOT that will pay up to $5.2 million (a pilot project) and is set to approve the plan next Tuesday.  WTVG
