ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Crews responded to an apartment fire on Alexis Rd. west of Jackman on Tuesday morning and extinguished the blaze by 6:50 a.m. without injuries while the Red Cross arranged temporary shelter for eight displaced individuals. WTVG
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Toledo Public Schools superintendent Romules Durant said the administrative union approved a pay freeze to address a projected $68 million deficit. The Board of Education will vote on the plan Tuesday night as part of efforts to stabilize district finances. WTOL
- ➤ Toledo invites youth aged 14–24 to join the Shoot This Not That – Tol: Youth Behind the Lens workshop, held June 8-12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Participants will get training, a stipend, and lunch as they use cameras & creativity to counter gun violence. WTVG
- ➤ Community members have voiced concerns over proposals to cut programs and consolidate schools ahead of a school district vote finalizing the changes. The vote is set to take place soon (exact schedule to be confirmed). WTOL
