  • WTOL 11 and Imagination Station are hosting a travel-themed LEGO contest where Toledo residents can build and submit their creation by December 4 at 11:59 p.m.—the winner will receive four tickets to Imagination Station, a $250 gift card, and the opportunity to display their work.  WTOL
  • On November 20, community members gathered at Anthony Wayne High School to learn about local data centers and their effects on water use, electricity demand, home values, and job prospects.   • Isaiah 117 House will take possession of its new home in Oregon on Nov. 24, marking its first location in Ohio. CULTURE NEWS

  • The American Numismatic Society announced it will move its headquarters from New York City to Toledo as it plans to share its historic coin and medal collections with a wider audience. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A former Woodward High School girls’ varsity basketball coach resigned from Toledo Public Schools on Nov. 20 amid an investigation into alleged misconduct raised by players & parents. Administrators said a new coach will lead the team as they continue to review concerns about student safety.  WTVG
  • Students and staff at Woodward High School shared a Thanksgiving meal on Friday for the fourth year in a row. The event brought the school together to celebrate the holiday.  WTOL
  • Twelve students received certificates when they graduated from Glass City Academy’s pre-apprenticeship program on Friday — a milestone that recognizes their hard work and training for future careers.  WTOL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that pavement repairs on I-75 will reduce southbound lanes at South Ave. from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today—causing delays near the DiSalle Bridge and a closure at the Miami Street on-ramp.  WTVG
  • On September 19, the Ability Center hosted its 'Toledo on Track' rally outside 1 Government Center to call for better public transit and new Amtrak routes for people with disabilities—local speakers and advocacy groups stressed that improved rail options would help residents reach jobs, healthcare, and education. State Representative Erica White and others said that expanded transit would make city connections stronger.  Toledo City Paper

  • Toledo welcomes The Wine Room Speakeasy—an exclusive bar owned by Kathryn Tucker and her husband Angel—that uses a hidden door and password system to offer a modern prohibition experience and serve local wines, cocktails and mock pours.  WTVG

  • The University of Toledo women’s volleyball team earned five MAC postseason honors after the awards were announced on Thursday.
