  • The Ability Center graduated eight service dogs on Thursday and officially handed over their leashes to new owners—marking a proud moment for the center.  WTOL

  • At his Oct 16 inauguration, UToledo President James Holloway outlined a plan to boost research and strengthen the regional economy—part of the Innovate Toledo initiative designed to power future growth.  The University of Toledo

  • Pike-Delta-York Local School District will replace its current levy with a new earned income tax levy—details on the rate and timing have not yet been provided.  WTOL
  • Blake Villarreal, a transfer student from Owens Community College, is a UToledo senior studying operations and supply chain management — he works full-time at Amazon and serves with the Marine Corps Reserve.   • The University of Toledo has opened applications for 2026 to 2027 on-campus housing so students can secure their preferred spots via the myUT portal.   • TARTA now offers Sunday service + operates six electric paratransit vehicles and 12 electric full-size buses that have logged more than 200,000 rides per month, improving transit options for Toledo commuters.  WTOL
  • The city of Toledo begins a six-week leaf collection program on Nov. 3 and divides pickups by neighborhood zones and zip codes. Residents are urged to sign up for Toledo Alerts (the text alert program) for updates on schedule changes and instructions for curbside preparation.  WTOL

  • The 2025 Greater Toledo Home Giveaway raised $200,000 for ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital through a raffle by Mavillino Custom Homes and partners—funds that support essential child life services.
