- ➤ Residents and local businesses in Oregon are supporting Operation Outfit—a nonprofit that sends clothing, snacks, hygiene items, and personalized goods to veterans in local nursing homes—to show their care for veterans in need. - ➤ Meteorologist Chris Vickers said NOAA data show that northwest Ohio will need nearly 1.15 trillion gallons of water—about the amount held in 1.7 million Olympic pools—to end its extreme drought. - ➤ Toledo residents who depend on SNAP benefits face hardships as government funding ends in October—if the shutdown continues, many will lose the support they need to buy food.
