- ➤ Toledo Zoo is hosting Harvest Fest with fun fall events like Little Boo at the Zoo — a long-running favorite — and the Pumpkin Path that offers families a chance to celebrate the season. WTOL
- ➤ After a fire hurt their Bryan home, Carol and Steve Rieman left the house where they had lived for over 20 years—neighbors, teens and strangers helped warn the fire department. The home was saved but the inside was ruined—and rebuilding will take over a year. WTVG
- ➤ Two Flag City Honor Flight veterans said the planned visit to the Vietnam memorial wall in Washington will bring them peace—showing how the stop holds deep meaning for their service. They explained that the upcoming trip gives them a chance to reflect on their memories and honor their past. WTOL

- ➤ Stellantis announced Tuesday that it will invest nearly $400 million at the Toledo Assembly Complex to shift midsize truck production from Belvidere to Toledo—expected to create over 900 new jobs once production begins in 2028. WTVG

- ➤ At a ceremony on Oct. 3rd, the Owens Corning Foundation presented a check for $827,920 to Toledo Excel to fund additional scholarships and summer programming over the next five years—continuing its long-standing support for underserved students from 8th grade through high school. The University of Toledo
- ➤ Anthony Wayne Local Schools is seeking new board applicants after Shellie McKnight resigned over social media comments about Charlie Kirk. Applicants must submit forms by Monday, November 3 + interviews will begin November 22 with the new member set to be announced on December 8 and sworn in in January to serve through the end of 2027. - ➤ At Rogers High School homecoming, Marshan Pettis led the Rams to their first win and was crowned homecoming king—marking an emotional night months after his father, Myshan Veasley-Pettis, died in July. WTOL
- ➤ Ohio's First Lady Fran DeWine said Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program has expanded access to books for kids. She noted the program has grown a lot in recent years — families can now sign up to receive free books. WTOL
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A local family is suing Arbors at Sylvania after their father died in January from sepsis caused by a severe bedsore that was not properly treated. Attorney Michael Hill alleges that understaffing and improper care led to the tragedy and the lawsuit aims to prevent similar neglect in the future. WTVG
- ➤ Owens Community College hosted an event that provided free dental services to children and worked to remove barriers like lack of insurance and high costs. WTOL
- ➤ Augustine Kwabil, a doctoral student at UToledo’s College of Medicine and Life Sciences, researched new ways to treat prostate cancer by triggering a dormant state in cancer cells—even those that had spread to nearby organs.
