- ➤ Bethany House of Toledo is holding an event as a memorial for domestic violence victims — it also urges Toledo residents to take action to prevent further abuse. WTOL
- ➤ The Black Cat Night Market will take place at the Lucas County Fairgrounds on October 16 from 5—9 p.m. with nearly 50 local vendors offering art, food, and Halloween-themed treats. - ➤ Parents in East Toledo raised concerns about school zone safety after noticing that flashing school zone signs face only Broadway—leaving busy approaches like Oakdale without proper warning and following a hit where a 9-year-old riding an electric scooter was injured; locals now urge the city to review and expand the traffic signals around schools. - ➤ Harvest Deli in Holland posted a sign—its THC drinks will not be sold past Monday after Gov. Mike DeWine signed an order banning intoxicating hemp, and Gail’s Party Shoppe in Gibsonburg is also pulling its stock and losing about $500 as they wait to see if the 90-day ban will extend. WTVG

- ➤ WGTE Public Media swept every category it was nominated for at the Press Club of Toledo Touchstone Awards on September 25 at the Valentine Theatre—earning top honors in digital video, podcast, and radio. - ➤ Artist Dean Davis will paint a new mural on the side of the Peace, Love, and Happiness World Headquarters building in downtown Toledo—he aims to spread peace, color and good vibes—to brighten the local area. WTOL

- ➤ Phase one of redeveloping the former Scott Park campus is underway for Toledo Public Schools while plans include magnet schools, a daycare, a health clinic, recreational facilities, and housing.
