- ➤ Toledo City Council President Carrie Hartman resigned on Monday and said she will leave her council role on Oct. 17 to take a new position as director of Government Relations at the University of Toledo—she also withdrew from the city council election and votes for her will not be counted. WTOL
- ➤ Four candidates—Bill Anderson, Matt Beil, Kyle McPherson and Jeff Michael—are running for two trustee positions in Swanton Township as they highlight plans to improve government services and transparency. - ➤ ODOT is preparing for winter as early measurable snowfall is expected in northern Ohio in early November and later in the south, and the agency will have nearly 3,000 drivers working 12-hour shifts to clear more than 43,000 lane miles—staff checked snow equipment and stocked over 800,000 tons of salt to keep roads safe.
