- ➤ Toledo hosts several literary events in October, with the Sylvania Writes Out Loud Poetry Slam having taken place on October 3 from 6–8 p.m. and upcoming attractions including Respect Tha Mic Poetry Night on October 8, Mitch Albom's talk on October 13, a book club meeting on October 23 at Quenched and Tempered Brewing Co., and a lecture on Toledo’s lost eateries at Libbey House on October 30. - ➤ Meredith Moon will perform a tribute concert at The Valentine on November 9 at 7 pm to mark the 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking—29 lives were lost, including seven from Northwest Ohio. She will honor her late father, Gordon Lightfoot, by performing his song and meeting family members at the memorial held at the National Museum of the Great Lakes. Toledo City Paper
- ➤ Morgan Freeman is set to bring his Blues Experience to Toledo on Oct. 30 at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle (he will team with Erie Meier to blend Delta Blues with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra). - ➤ A new study by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Research Foundation found that Ohio's datacenters supported nearly 95,000 jobs and added $12 billion in 2024, with projections of 130,000 jobs and $20 billion by 2030.
