- ➤ Today at 11am, the Millbury Street Fair starts at Millbury Firehall with local vendors and family fun. Later in the month, Toledo Zoo hosts PNC ZOOtoDO on September 19 and Sip Sip Hooray Harvest Wine Fest on September 26, while Honey Fest on September 20 and Toledo Fringe Fest on September 27 at Collingwood Arts Center offer a range of food, music and art—these events promise diverse entertainment for our community. - ➤ City crews fixed a sinkhole on Pinewood Ave that once threatened a local grandmother’s home—repair work that lasted many months—and now residents have a safer road and sidewalks. WTVG
- ➤ Toledo celebrated a new accessible playground at Schneider Park on Friday—local officials said the $450,000 project was funded by District 2 Councilman Adam Martinez’s District Improvement Program and the American Rescue Plan, and it adds one of four inclusive play areas in the city. WTVG
- ➤ Thirty-eight people became U.S. citizens at a naturalization ceremony at the University of Toledo College of Law on Friday—marking an important milestone for the new citizens. WTOL

- ➤ On Thursday, the Toledo City plan commission approved a plan for the Westgate shopping center at Central and Secor where property owners plan to build four buildings for big box retail and another building for two stores and three restaurants—the plan must now go to the Toledo City Council for a vote. - ➤ The Historical Construction Equipment Association’s National Construction Equipment Museum in Bowling Green displays machines that range from late 1800s horse-drawn items to modern equipment and is run by local volunteers. The museum will host its International Convention and Old Equipment Exposition Sept. 18—20 to draw thousands of visitors from around the world. WTVG

- ➤ On September 9, 2025, Toledo City Council met and honored Justin Scott Slater for saving a woman and Kenyetta Gable-Jones for retiring after 40 years at General Motors. The council passed a rule classifying kratom as a Schedule I Controlled Substance—dissent was raised on budget changes and a failed vote to repeal a 2000 zoning law. Toledo Free Press
