- ➤ Community leaders held a grand opening yesterday for Park Apartments, a $15 million, 45-unit affordable housing project at 201 Knapp St in the Middlegrounds neighborhood that offers safe housing for young adults leaving foster care and facing homelessness. Partners such as Harbor and Walmart will provide support services—helping residents with job training, case management, and essential move-in kits. WTVG

- ➤ Families with young children will be invited to join Lil’ Scupper’s Kids Club at the National Museum of the Great Lakes, which will begin on September 18 at 10:30 a.m. The monthly program is designed for children aged 0-6 and their caregivers—featuring music, movement, stories and hands-on activities with a maritime twist each month through May 2026. - ➤ The National Museum of the Great Lakes has announced a Day in the Life Tour: Chief Engineer that will give the public a behind-the-scenes look at what a chief engineer does aboard the Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship — and the Museum Tug Ohio. The 90-minute tours are set for Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. and Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. with limited space available. WTVG
- ➤ Artomatic 419 returns to downtown Toledo as a multi-day art festival set for September 19—21 at the Erie Street Market, where more than 100 local visual artists will display work and live performers will entertain audiences in vacant buildings. The Arts Commission said the event will offer large installations and intimate performances that highlight Toledo’s creative talent. Toledo City Paper

- ➤ The Department of Justice sued ProMedica on Sept. 2 for allegedly providing grossly substandard nursing home services at four facilities—citing failures in individualized care plans and proper wound care from 2017 to 2023. ProMedica said it would defend itself by noting its acquisition of HCR ManorCare and previous efforts to maintain care quality. WTVG
