- ➤ A Walbridge police officer—Michael Ervin—arrived at a call with a blood-alcohol level of .168 and was fired and charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing official business, OVI and possessing a weapon while intoxicated, after previously resigning from Toledo following multiple alcohol-related incidents. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Toledo residents are invited to join the Anthony Wayne Studio Hop, a free art tour on Saturday, September 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m that takes them to local artists' studios in the Anthony Wayne area—offering a chance to meet artists and see unique creations. The event is organized by the Anthony Wayne Art Loop and Color of Fun and will give the community a fun way to support local art. Toledo City Paper

- ➤ Ohio lawmakers are considering a bill that will require public school students starting as early as fifth grade to complete screenings to help identify children at risk of human trafficking—this proposal by Rep. Josh Williams features a questionnaire developed with the University of Toledo and provides $5 million for school training and an online reporting portal. WTOL
