  • Marathon legend Bill Rodgers returns to Toledo for a talk and a community run—he previously raced in 1982 in the Pepsi Challenge 10K.  WTOL
  • A Sylvania car show raised funds for Wreaths Across America to honor veterans by supporting local memorial projects. Organizers said the event will help fund December ceremonies—ensuring that the community remembers its veterans.  WTOL
  • Organizers said Sunday's farmers' market at Waterville's new Parker Square showed that the space can host food and fun for local people — more events are planned to use the square.  WTOL

CRIME NEWS

  • A 70-year-old man was shot in the torso Sunday night on Elm Street near Moss Street in Toledo—he remains in life threatening condition while police search for the suspect.  WTVG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sylvania Township asked county engineers in March to review Mitchaw Road’s 55 mph speed limit (the study found that the limit is 5 mph lower than what old rules suggest) after residents raised safety concerns. The posted limit will remain unchanged because Ohio law sets speed standards for this road type.  WTVG

  • Lake Flyers high school football team is aiming for a breakthrough season in the Northern Buckeye Conference under coach Bishop—win totals have grown in each of the last two seasons—and will host Leipsic on Friday after a 34—22 win last year.  WTOL
