ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • University of Toledo microbiologists found that harmful algal toxins build up in the sand at Maumee Bay State Park and stay active for up to 28 days from samples taken last summer. Their research, published in the Journal of Great Lakes Research, will guide future beach rules — though experts say healthy skin contact is not likely to cause illness.  Toledo Legal News
