- ➤ Delroy Chance Angel Wings Foundation provided new cleats to over 500 children and was launched after the sudden passing of high school football coach Delroy Chance — a coach known for his dedication to local kids. WTVG
- ➤ Whiteford Greenhouse hosted its third annual Plant Fest—drawing hundreds of local gardeners who sought rare plants—and showed the growing interest in horticulture. WTOL
- ➤ Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Cocoon Shelter that for two decades has provided survivors of domestic and sexual violence a safe place—its programs will continue supporting survivors in the future. WTOL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ohio’s 30 colleges and universities had their Collegiate Purple Star designation renewed, said ODHE Chancellor Mike Duffey. The awards honor schools (first designated in May 2022) for supporting military-connected students and require renewal every three years. Toledo Legal News

- ➤ Lucas County workers will complete final tasks this week at the new roundabout on Hill Avenue and South McCord Road in Springfield Township after 45 days of construction that began when the intersection closed on June 2 — the upgrade comes after the junction saw 65 crashes, including 27 injuries over the last five years. - ➤ The inner lanes of Airport Highway between Main Street and Forrester Avenue reopened today after crews repaired sinkholes and a significant hole in a sewer pipe beneath the roadway—according to a Swanton village social media post. The Ohio Department of Transportation is keeping some lanes closed near Main for safe left turns as repairs continue. WTOL
- ➤ Today, the Ohio Department of Development announced over $6.3 million in Roadwork Development grants for road improvements in six communities to support economic growth and job creation. Toledo will receive $1,182,760 for the Farnsworth Business Park project — a plan to construct about 1,740 linear feet of roadway to improve access for future industrial use. Toledo Legal News
- ➤ Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced evidence of potential election fraud and referred findings—thirty noncitizen registrations and eleven cases of multiple voting from several states—to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and other state attorneys general for review. Toledo Legal News
