COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Budweiser Clydesdales will arrive in Toledo this weekend as part of a national tour that celebrates 15 years of partnership with Folds of Honor+ On Friday at 4 p.m., the horses will parade around Fifth Third Field ahead of a Mud Hens game and Budweiser will present a check at 7:05 p.m., while on Saturday at 4 p.m. they will deliver beer starting at Hollywood Casino and through downtown Rossford.  WTVG

  • A local in Holland saved a child from drowning in a neighborhood lake on June 23rd — he quickly pulled the child from the water and secured additional help.  WTVG
  • A car crashed into a building Monday morning, sending one person to the hospital—emergency crews responded and are investigating the incident.  WTVG

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Toledo officials are notifying water customers about upcoming shutoffs as part of a plan to collect $66 million in unpaid water and sewer bills + the move comes as rising heat affects Northwest Ohio.  WTVG
  • The Lucas County Commissioners will vote today at 11 a.m. on the 2025-2030 strategic plan in the Commissioners Hearing Room at One Government Center—this plan aims to guide future decisions and address modern challenges.  WTVG
  • The FBI contacted at least three local officials about the South Toledo mining project at Rocky Ridge Development, which is mining on land zoned for residential use without a proper change. City officials said a rezoning proposal will be voted on in July as community concerns grow over dust, water quality, and other environmental impacts—while the nature of the federal inquiry remains unclear.  WTOL
  • Today, the Ohio Department of Transportation said ramp closures are planned on I-475/U.S. 23 as final paving will be completed this week—despite possible evening thunderstorms. A new Sheetz store has sparked a gas price war as local stations adjust their prices in response.  The Blade
