- ➤ Toledoans can join a summer scavenger hunt today as hundreds of star-shaped magnets will be hidden in Toledo and nearby areas until September 8th. Organizer Gregary Luks says most magnets will earn points for small prizes while special stars will award bigger rewards from local partners — including an art museum, a zoo, and a quarry. WTOL

- ➤ A teenager died in an overnight crash in Toledo and another teen was hospitalized when the driver fled the scene, authorities said—investigators are still determining the cause. WTVG
- ➤ Troopers said an early morning crash on CR133 at SR111 in Paulding County on June 8 killed 17-year-old Kaiya Raine Klopfenstein from Defiance and left an 18-year-old driver from Oakwood hospitalized with serious injuries after he failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a tree. WTVG

- ➤ A man was shot in Toledo and is in critical condition as police investigate the incident—no further details have been released. WTVG
- ➤ A Toledo man was arrested Sunday morning on charges of arson and vandalism after he allegedly broke into a property and set a vehicle on fire with surveillance footage showing him breaking a glass entry door, windows and the car's glass, and he is set to appear in court today. WTVG
- ➤ A man was shot Sunday night on Parakeet Street and is in critical condition as police found many shell casings and began investigating a connected scene on Kingsbury—authorities have not released suspect details. WTVG
- ➤ Before 3 a.m. Sunday, a driver struck a person running on the 1200 block of Broer Avenue near Dorr Street after shots rang out in a crowded parking lot and then fled—leaving the victim stabilized at a nearby hospital and prompting police to arrest one individual with open warrants who is not linked to the shots—and police are still searching for the driver. - ➤ A northwest Ohio lawmaker introduced HB 108 to set new court guidelines for self-defense claims and to shift the burden of proof to prosecutors. Representative Josh Williams, who cited a case where his client faced severe consequences despite strong evidence of self-defense, said the bill—currently awaiting committee review—aims to give defendants a fairer chance in court.
