- ➤ Toledo’s Party in the Park concert series kicked off Friday night at Promenade Park after a long break — the free events will continue every Friday until Labor Day weekend and are expected to boost local food trucks and beer businesses. WTVG
- ➤ Lucas County Canine Care & Control is hosting a puppy adoption event tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Canine Care Center at 410 S. Erie St.—the event offers reduced adoption fees based on the puppies' ages and all adopted dogs are spayed or neutered with current vaccinations and a registered microchip. WTVG

- ➤ Taya Groom, 23, was arrested Thursday for allegedly stabbing a victim in the back on April 29—she faces a felonious assault charge with bail set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 4. WTVG

- ➤ Anthony Wayne Local Schools warned families about online scams targeting students that promise jobs, easy money and online fame before asking for personal details. The district advised parents to remind children not to share sensitive information and to report any suspicious messages. WTVG
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Toledo-based Libbey Glass lost over $45 million in federal award money when the Department of Energy canceled its clean energy project funding. The project, announced in April to retrofit the plant with new furnace technology to reduce CO2 emissions and create jobs, was canceled because it was neither economically viable nor met energy needs. - ➤ Starting Monday, road closures at Hill Avenue and South McCord Road will cause detours for drivers and headaches for business owners for the next month and a half — although shops will remain open. WTVG
