- ➤ East Toledo Teens United is inviting new members to join its volunteer and mentorship group that carries on George Marshall's legacy. The group meets every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church and will volunteer at the Mud Hens' games this Saturday and Sunday. WTVG

- ➤ Toledo author Jim Bolone released his horror short story collection 'Zombie Seagulls and 13 Other Spine-Chilling Tales' through Mission Point Press ($13), which features quick, chilling reads inspired by local landmarks and regional lore. - ➤ Toledo hosts its first Really Cool Comic Con at Glass City Center this weekend. Visitors can join tabletop role-playing sessions and view pop culture exhibits at the event. The Blade

- ➤ Toledo Public Schools will cut library services next school year, according to an email from a district librarian and Harvard Elementary PTO. The move is part of a plan to address a budget shortfall (a $68 million deficit). WTOL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ I-475 will have closures starting Friday night when southbound lanes between U.S. 24 and Route 25 are set to close for the weekend. WTOL
- ➤ Waterville Township approved up to $80,000 for exterior renovations to a 115-year-old barn on Dutch Road this summer. The project will cover the barn with metal siding to keep it watertight and preserve the structure for equipment storage. Toledo Free Press

- ➤ Tanger acquired Town Center at Levis Commons from Hill Partners Inc. (the previous owner) earlier this month and confirmed the center will not become an outlet mall. WTVG
