- ➤ A surprise donation from the Knights of Columbus helped feed 50 local cancer patients and their families at Nightingale’s Harvest Cancer Family Pantry at Toledo’s Lutheran Church of our Savior. The gift comes amid slower donations ahead of a sold-out fundraiser (today) that will boost the pantry’s stock. WTVG
- ➤ A Toledo native will open The HER Center on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at 3727 Upton Avenue to provide mentorship, life skills training, and behavioral health services for girls (ages 8-21) while hosting her ongoing Golden Girls program. WTVG
- ➤ The annual community clean up competition hosted by Litter League kicks off Friday in Lucas County. Teams from local businesses, nonprofits, community groups and families will compete to remove litter as the season runs May 15-Aug. 31. WTOL

- ➤ University of Toledo leads the Great Lakes Partnership to Enhance the Nuclear Workforce — a $38.4M effort to train nuclear energy workers — with University of Michigan as its primary academic partner.
