- ➤ Anne Grady Services held Coffee for a Cause in April to raise awareness for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and to announce that Noah’s House would reopen after a Covid pause. - ➤ Defying Odds Therapy Playspace in Toledo is a new indoor spot where children of all abilities enjoy calm sensory rooms and active play areas plus receive therapy. Pediatric occupational therapist Erica Zimmerman planned the space at 6544 W. Central Ave.+ after two years of work to meet the needs of kids with sensory sensitivities. Toledo Free Press

- ➤ The Lucas County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday that the body of 68-year-old Keith Klein Sr. was discovered in Swanton Township more than three weeks after he was last seen at 6 p.m. on April 2—his family still seeks further answers. WTOL
- ➤ Toledo Police released body camera footage showing that Joseph Pfaff and Tiffany Douglas allowed their five children to live in uninhabitable conditions with trash and clothes scattered about the home, leading to their arrest for child endangerment and controlled substance charges while Pfaff pleaded not guilty and his trial is set for May 5. - ➤ TOLEDO police arrested Malik Smith after he allegedly left his two young sons unattended at 1:20 a.m. on April 26 and assaulted officers during his arrest—he reportedly threatened harm and now faces charges of endangering children, aggravated menacing, and assault on a peace officer. WTVG

- ➤ Local artist Dean Davis has opened his new River Gallery Studios — set in the former PJ's Deli — in downtown Toledo and announced plans for 23 mural projects along the Maumee River, including 'The Toledo Mural' on a parking garage. The projects will start this spring and his studio will host free art classes with a launch party on May 9 — a plan supported by the Port Authority and local commissioners — to invite community participation.
