  • At a VFW fundraiser in Monroe, 70-year-old Glenda Bourbina was crowned prom queen at an adult prom honoring veterans (her first prom experience). The feel-good event celebrated her long-awaited moment and supported local heroes.  WTVG

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Glass City Center will host the fourth annual Toledo Tattoo Festival from May 1-3, featuring over 200 tattoo artists from local and international backgrounds offering tattoo appointments, contests, and vendor booths. The family-friendly event requires participants to be 18 or older.  Toledo Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Anthony Wayne High School senior Garrett Smith will report for Plebe Summer at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis on June 24. He earned a nomination from Rep. Marcy Kaptur and follows in the footsteps of his USNA graduate brothers (Cameron, Cayden and Roray).  Toledo Free Press
