  • A historic campground in Swanton has reopened as Superior Made RV Resort after Metroparks Toledo preserved the land formerly known as Big Sandy — local owners Nate and Alicia Lawson now operate the inclusive site featuring 200 pitches and family-friendly activities for seasonal and overnight guests.  WTVG
  • NFL player Chris Wormley and UToledo will join Mud Hens and Walleye Main Library Takeover on May 30 to host a free youth football clinic, sports activities, and health screenings at Main Library. ECONOMY NEWS

  • First Brands is working with potential buyers to transfer Toledo Molding and Die plants in Tiffin+Bowling Green, which could preserve up to 700 jobs by April 30. If the sale falls through, a job fair is planned next Thursday and Friday to link workers with new opportunities.  WTOL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Toledo will take over the Junior Achievement – 5th Year program after Lourdes University closes at the end of the academic year. The program helps young adults transition from high school to career support.  The University of Toledo

  • Crews are restoring street lights on Talmadge Road today after months of outages caused by crash-damaged poles. The work is part of a city effort to improve public safety and traffic flow.  WTVG
  • ODOT’s GoBus service began operating in northwest Ohio yesterday, stopping at the UToledo hub off Dorr Street (South Towerview Boulevard and East Rocket Drive) and at the TARTA hub at Cherry and Huron streets to expand transit options for local commuters.  The University of Toledo

  • Public health officials urge locals to exercise caution as tests confirmed that Swan Creek’s E. coli levels exceed Ohio EPA limits (the water quality advisory remains in effect for the connected waterways).  WTOL

SPORTS NEWS

  • The University of Toledo named Tom Moreland as its new athletic director and vice president for intercollegiate athletics, succeeding Bryan Blair who left for Syracuse.
