  • Wood County 4-H volunteers spent the day giving back by building beds, packing meals, making pet treats, and stuffing pillows for hospice patients to support local community needs.  WTOL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UToledo will hold spring commencement ceremonies starting Friday, May 1 at 6 p.m.—with graduate and undergraduate sessions on Saturday—honoring more than 2,100 graduates with ticketed admission due to capacity limits; additional law and medicine events will occur later in May.  The University of Toledo
  • Amanda Abraham, a pre-occupational therapy student, will graduate on May 2 from the health science program and begin her doctorate this fall following a two-year journey marked by community volunteering and a transformative medical mission trip.  The University of Toledo

SPORTS NEWS

  • Road closures for the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon will begin Saturday, April 25, across Toledo as streets on Bancroft, Secor, and Sylvania reopen individually as runners pass. Sunday closures will support the marathon, half marathon, and relay races with police monitoring traffic + ensuring timely reopenings.  WTVG
  • Toledo Walleye will open the round-one ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs against Bloomington Bison on Thursday, Apr. 23 at 7:15 p.m. at the Huntington Center, with a Saturday game scheduled before the series heads to Bloomington Monday.  WTOL
