  • Fourteen-year-old Isabelle Fleig from Perrysburg received the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Smoke Detector on Guard Award after she bravely saved her family during a house fire.  WTOL
  • The MultiFaith Council of NW Ohio was recognized for its Harmony Week event, which celebrated global interfaith unity + honored diverse local faith traditions in Toledo.  The Blade
  • Maumee Senior Center will host its annual Retirement Fair on April 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to offer expert guidance, including a Social Security presentation at 3:30 p.m., and food trucks + raffles for those ages 50 to 70 planning retirement.  WTVG
  • Lucas County Children Services honored ten children lost last year to abuse, neglect or gun violence, including Kei’mani Latigue (died in March 2025), in a memorial to celebrate their lives.  The Blade

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Toledo woman had her car fall into a hole on Norwood Avenue on Thursday morning after a water line leak created a large drain puddle. City crews blocked off the street and expect to finish repairs Thursday (she was advised to contact the Toledo Law Department for damage claims).  WTVG

  • SOFO Italian Market, a family business founded by Antonio Sofo in the 1920s, serves authentic Italian foods at its shop (5400 Monroe Street) in Toledo. The business runs three distribution centers in Ohio, Georgia, and Texas and offers fresh produce, cheeses, and meats.  Toledo Free Press
