- ➤ On Friday evening, the Area Office on Aging and Toledo Public Schools hosted their annual senior prom in Toledo where over 500 seniors danced to live music and enjoyed dinner in a 70s style party. The event celebrated senior culture and crowned a prom king aged 95 and a prom queen aged 100 — marking the most attended prom in over a decade. WTOL
- ➤ Community Water Action Toledo will host a training and kickoff event on April 19 at Farnsworth Metropark’s Indianola Shelter Area to launch its water quality monitoring season in Northwest Ohio waterways—volunteers will sign up for regular sampling from April to October. WTVG

- ➤ On April 11th, a fire broke out on the second floor of a house on Thayer Street—firefighters said an electrical fault sparked the blaze—and a woman and a child inside escaped safely. WTVG
- ➤ Sixty years ago, the Palm Sunday Tornado outbreak produced 47 tornadoes that killed 271 people and injured 1,500—leaving deep scars in our community—and survivors recall that tragic evening. WTVG

- ➤ Toledo is holding a memorial at West Toledo YMCA today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to honor 13-year-old Kei'Mani Latigue, who was found deceased in east Toledo, while her father is charged with her death and her grandmother now manages the funeral plans after a custody dispute. WTOL
- ➤ A woman was arrested on April 11 after allegedly neglecting her dogs during an eviction at her apartment on 3rd St., where police found two malnourished pit bulls in cages and a pit bull puppy that had starved to death + she is scheduled to appear in court on April 14. WTVG
- ➤ Today, Whiskey Red Saloon in downtown Toledo is hosting a celebration of life fundraiser from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.—the event honors Joaquin Simmons, 18, who died after being dragged by a car during an attempted robbery over a pair of shoes and will raise funds to help cover his family's funeral and medical costs. - ➤ Maumee filed a complaint with the Ohio Supreme Court to stop a Sept. 9 vote to remove Mayor James MacDonald and six council members. The complaint argues that the Lucas County Board of Elections broke the Maumee Charter (which does not allow a recall) and ignored state law. WTVG
