- ➤ A Lucas County grand jury indicted six people on March 27 for kidnapping and assault after they allegedly held a 26-year-old captive for nearly a week in Maumee—he was beaten, forced to stand for long periods and given only one meal a day before he reached help at Speedway. WTVG
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Metroparks Toledo said bird watchers can see waterfowl like sandhill cranes, bald eagles, and the American Coot—known as the mud hen that inspired the local baseball team's name—now before more species arrive in May. They recommend visiting Howard Marsh in Jerusalem Township along the Madewell Trail to get a close look at the birds. WTVG

- ➤ Governor DeWine announced on Thursday that nearly $4.6 million in federal funding — part of the Ohio Body-Worn Camera Grant Program — will help local law enforcement agencies purchase or upgrade body-worn camera equipment.
