  • Seneca County veterans are gathering today at the VFW in Green Springs to honor fallen comrades and reflect on their trips to Washington D.C. from 2022 and 2024—veterans shared pizza and joined raffles as they remembered their service and the full-donation rides.  WTVG
  • A baby male ring-tailed lemur was born at the Toledo Zoo on March 10th to Fanta (mom) and Echo (dad), marking the zoo's first ring-tailed lemur birth since 2017 while both the baby and Fanta thrived on exhibit in Primate Forest for weekend visitors.  WTOL

CRIME NEWS

  • Toledo police indicted Chaz Jacob, Amy Fountain and Christopher Hagerman on March 18 for allegedly producing child pornography and sexually exploiting minors—investigators found image and video files showing abuse of multiple underage children.  WTVG
  • Former Rossford Police Chief Glenn B. Goss, Sr.—indicted in Wood County Court on seven counts for allegedly using a police database illegally from December 4th, 2019 to April 24th, 2024—is set to appear in court on March 31.  WTVG

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Metroparks Toledo said the 2025 walleye run will continue until the first week of May along the Maumee River—anglers are expected to share the waters with local wildlife during the event.  WTVG

HEALTH NEWS

  • Millions from opioid settlement funds are being given to groups in northwest Ohio to help fight addiction and support recovery; $4.1M has been awarded to programs at Harbor, the Zepf Center, and Lucas County Children Services + additional funding will be offered as more settlement payments are made.  WTOL
  • Toledo healthcare workers recalled how the COVID-19 pandemic forced hospitals to add temperature checks, masks, and separate waiting areas five years ago, and they said that staffing shortages and high costs for temporary workers still affect care today. Hospital leaders noted these lessons help them prepare for other emergencies—keeping patient care safe and steady.  WTOL
