- ➤ Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Ohio will hold its annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake on three Saturdays in April at Miracle Lanes in Toledo from 1 to 3 p.m. The fundraiser will help support local mentoring programs (registration deadline is March 28) (event dates are April 5, 12 and 19). WTVG

- ➤ Three people were hospitalized after a head-on collision at about 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday at Dorr Street near St. Andrews Road— a blue car in the left turn lane struck a white car and all injuries appear non-life threatening as police investigate the crash. WTVG

- ➤ The University of Toledo’s Department of Internal Audit shifted to the Office of Risk Management on March 18 — now including compliance, enterprise risk management and internal audit — while the Title IX Office continues to report directly to the chief financial officer. - ➤ Pre-K education talks in Toledo grew tense when Hope Toledo said its funds were too low and many activities had to be cut back. Business and education leaders met Monday morning to discuss plans for a universal Pre-K program while state senator Theresa Gavarone and Toledo Public Schools looked into possible partnerships—steps that could help more four-year-olds start learning early. - ➤ A city spokesperson said Toledo will begin awarding youth programming grants year-round—shifting from the previous summer and after-school schedule—with the change set to help keep kids engaged. WTOL
- ➤ Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz named Kid Mayor Dashiell 'Dash' Harden — a student from Monac Elementary selected from hundreds for his clever answers — on Tuesday. Harden and 12 other Kid Council members will take part in events to learn about local government. WTVG
