  • The annual Walleye Run on the Maumee River is underway today as warm temperatures have launched the 2026 season+ local organizers invite community members to enjoy the event along the river.  WTVG
  • The Toledo Women Lawyers History Project will honor UToledo College of Law Dean Rebecca E.   • Alyssa Stoy, an occupational therapy doctorate candidate at UToledo graduating in May, is partnering with Destination Toledo on a capstone project to create an accessibility guide for travelers with diverse needs (gathering input from people with disabilities and caregivers) to help local businesses improve inclusion.  The University of Toledo

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Utility crews worked to remove fallen trees + repair damages after a windstorm Saturday left thousands without power in Toledo. AEP restored electricity to over 175,000 customers and expects to resolve outages by tonight.  WTVG
  • Boaters are urged to recycle shrink wrap this spring at designated drop-off sites in Toledo and nearby areas, as ODNR and the Ohio Clean Marinas Program (in partnership with local recyclers) work to reduce plastic pollution in waterways.  Toledo Legal News
  • A Waterville nursery — constantly monitoring windstorm impacts — warns residents to look out for downed squirrels after windstorms have knocked over more than a dozen animals this week. The facility asks people who find injured squirrels to text 419-910-4038 before intervening.  WTVG

  • Military officials on Mar. 15 identified six airmen killed in an Iraq plane crash during Operation Epic Fury (three of the airmen were from Ohio) as investigators review the incident.  WTVG
