CRIME NEWS

  • A Toledo jury found 53-year-old Sean Landis guilty on all charges in connection with a double shooting in a Sylvania Township home last year — including two counts of attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated burglary and tampering with evidence — and he is set to be sentenced on April 2.  WTOL
  • Toledo police urge residents to be alert during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations expected to fill downtown on March 17—officers will boost patrols to prevent drunk driving and disorderly conduct while warning drivers about road closures that will need detours.   • Toledo City Council approved $50,000 for a victim assistance program facing funding cuts— the funds will help support victims by keeping essential services running.  WTOL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Toledo women's basketball beat Buffalo (56-49) on Friday after coming back from a seven-point gap at halftime, with Nan Garcia and Sammi Mikonowicz each scoring 13 points. They will face Ball State today at 11 a.m. at Rocket Arena in Cleveland in the MAC championship game that will decide a spot in the NCAA tournament.  WTOL
