- ➤ A Lucas County grand jury indicted 20—year-old Maurion Mitchell of Toledo on a felonious assault charge with a firearm after he shot a man at a home on Eleanor Avenue just before 4 a.m. on March 2, leaving the victim with grazes on his left chest and arm. WTVG
- ➤ Rachel Heier faces five counts of child endangerment after a search warrant in Holland revealed a child in her care was malnourished and locked in a room with a blacked—out window, prompting Lucas County Children Services to remove him before her March 3 arrest. WTVG
- ➤ The Monroe County Sheriff closed a nearly 40-year-old cold case after DNA testing identified the remains of Shaun Daniel Brauner—missing since 1986—and returned them to his family for a memorial service. WTVG

- ➤ Residents in Toledo should register to vote by April 7 using the online system or in person at a local library and must have valid Ohio photo ID to cast their ballots on May 6, 2025—polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. WTOL
- ➤ A new caucus in the Ohio House called the DOGE Caucus, led by Rep. Ty Mathews from Findlay, is reviewing the state budget to cut extra spending and boost government efficiency for Ohioans.
