  • Married couple Greer and Matthew Bowley are returning their plant nursery to the Davis Building in Toledo, where they began the business from home, marking a return to their local roots and a renewed focus on local plants.  The Blade

  • During a varsity game between Lorain High and Toledo Rogers on Saturday, a fight on the court led officials to cut the match short when an 18-year-old spectator was charged for interfering with safety measures.  WTOL

  • Toledo Lucas County Public Library will celebrate Women’s History Month with a series of programs including self-defense classes + book club meetings throughout the month at local branches.  The Blade
  • First Presbyterian Church (built in 1968) hosted its re-dedication service Sunday on East Broadway Street to reveal a refreshed sanctuary after 58 years, marking a new chapter for the historic site.  WTOL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Toledo College of Law is joining the Ohio Governor's Expedited Pardon Project to help eligible Ohioans obtain faster pardons. A new clinical professor funded by a $100,000 grant will work with students beginning this summer, as part of a statewide partnership with other law schools.  The University of Toledo
  • UToledo Honors ambassador Tabitha Romer built a strong academic path by studying constitutional texts at Oxford (an adventure that boosted her confidence) and supporting research on Ohio’s 1912 constitutional convention. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Beginning Jan. 30, the Ohio Department of Agriculture expanded the Box Tree Moth quarantine zone to include seven new counties — Preble, Clark, Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Lorain, Lake, and Lucas. The agency urged landscapers and residents to avoid moving boxwood shrubs outside the area.  Toledo Legal News

  • The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control urges adults to build on Dry January's success by using resources and education for mindful, year-round drinking.
