- ➤ After Toledo Public Schools cut funds, a local foundation stepped in so the El Centro Hub can continue connecting Spanish-speaking residents with bilingual help for health care, housing and food in the Old South End — part of the Sophia Quintero Art and Cultural Center serving about 500 people. - ➤ The Toledo Zoo extended its winter closure from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1 — due to heavy snowfall and cold temperatures — and will reopen Feb. 2. Staff assures that animals will be cared for indoors during the break. WTOL
