  • At the Toledo Auto Show, Mike Hitch will present his 2026 Roswell green Z06 convertible Chevrolet Corvette + offer local buyers a chance to see innovative auto designs. The event introduces fresh horsepower and style for auto enthusiasts in our community.  The Blade

  • Artist Chris “Chilly” Rodriguez is rebranding a 3,500 sqft space on Madison Avenue into a new art gallery that will show his work; the project is underway and will bring fresh art to Toledo.  The Blade

  • Logistics CEO Darren Moore questioned Toledo’s public funding and investment, urging local leaders to consider a reset of the region’s growth strategy—seeking to boost economic development.  WTOL

  • A panel of UToledo faculty will discuss wartime comics at the Carlson Library Main Event Space on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 2:30 p.m., accompanying the Drawn into Conflict exhibition. The lecture will cover topics from World War II to modern conflicts.  The University of Toledo

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents in northwest Ohio are clearing out after a heavy snow storm that dropped record snow (since 2022) and caused travel delays. Cleanup continues as residents work on road removal to open passageways.  WTVG
  • A newly released U.S.-Canada report shows that western Lake Erie remains in poor condition as harmful algal blooms persist despite slow progress. The report indicates that further actions will be needed to improve the lake's water quality.  The Blade

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Toledo offers a live tracker for snow plows after a marathon snowfall made cleaning roads difficult from Sunday into early Monday; the map shows clearing priorities for major streets and community areas (including hospitals and bus routes).  WTVG

HEALTH NEWS

  • Toledo mental health providers are facing challenges in serving residents with schizophrenia, which affects between 0.3 and 0.7 percent of the community while only 5 percent of the homeless receive a diagnosis; officials say stronger support is needed to expand services.  The Blade

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nearly 2,000 Walleye fans (mostly local) braved a winter storm last Sunday and cheered as Toledo beat Cincinnati in a thrilling game. The win energized local hockey lovers despite the harsh weather at the arena.  The Blade
  • On a frozen Saturday night at Savage Arena, a large Toledo basketball crowd began to leave as a winter system moved in, but the game then shifted into surprising moments of magic on the court.  The Blade
