Toledo Opera Presents The Three Little Pigs A Free Family Opera On Wheels Performance Sunday, November 8, 2026 | 4:00 PM Epworth United Methodist Church | 4855 W. Central Avenue, Toledo, OH Toledo Opera will bring its award-winning Opera On Wheels program to the community for a special free family performance of The Three Little Pigs on Sunday, November 8. This engaging, family-friendly production offers an accessible introduction to opera through music, humor, storytelling, and a familiar fairy tale. John Davies’ adaptation puts a Mozart-inspired twist on the classic story, following siblings Don Giovanni, Cherubino, and Despina as they decide how to build their new homes. While two siblings choose straw and sticks, Despina heads to the library to research “huff-proof, puff-proof” building methods. Featuring scenes and music drawn from Mozart’s operas, the production demonstrates how opera can be playful, entertaining, and accessible for audiences of all ages. Following the performance, families are invited to stay for cookies, punch, and a special meet-and-greet with the artists, creating an opportunity for young audience members to interact with performers and experience the people behind the music. As part of Toledo Opera’s longstanding commitment to arts education and community engagement, Opera On Wheels has brought live opera directly to schools and community venues across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan for 40 years. The program reaches more than 22,000 students annually with engaging, age-appropriate productions designed to introduce new audiences to opera.
