About this event

Aerial Hoop/Lyra is a beautiful apparatus that combines the strength of metal with the grace of movement. In this beginner class, students will learn the basics of how to enter, spin, and create shapes using the Hoop as an extension of their bodies. You might just learn to defy gravity! No requirements needed to take this class, as the instructor will work with you at your level, and help you in your journey with this apparatus. So long as you have an interest, you are more than welcome to join! Those familiar with pole dance or other aerial apparatuses might recognize cross over between moves, but each apparatus has their own quirks. Stretchy/Athletic clothing with leg and belly coverage recommended, as Lyra can give bruises easily. As well, be aware that any piece of clothing too loose can be hazardous, as it can get wrapped around or caught on the Lyra. Hair is recommended to be tied up, but not required. No rings, earrings, or necklaces; however body jewelry is okay. If you have any prior injuries or mobility issues, please let the instructor know so accommodations can be made. Classes are every Tuesday from 4:00 - 5:15 pm Check out our calendar on dancetoledo.com to register for classes! **Pre-registration is required**
